Hai Phong is a port city with a humid, coastal climate and windy conditions, where residents and businesses frequently have a need for gift items. From July 1, 2025, according to the administrative arrangement at the provincial level, Hai Duong will be merged into Hai Phong, so many people who previously said "buy bird's nest in Hai Duong" will now also be within Hai Phong city. This article focuses on what people in Hai Phong should know when buying bird's nest: how to store it in humid and salty air, ordering from afar, and inspecting the goods. Yến Sào Quang Minh is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City and delivers to other provinces via shipping units; this article does not mention any store in Hai Phong.

Specific point of Hai Phong: humid air with a salty touch

Near the sea, the air is often highly humid; in late winter and spring there are some days with damp weather, and the northeast monsoon causes rapid weather changes. For dried bird's nest, the greatest risk is absorbing moisture and becoming moldy, accompanied by an odd smell. Prevention method:

  • Keep the original box when unused; after opening, transfer it to a sealed box with a tight lid.
  • Place the box in a dry cabinet, avoiding windows, outer walls, and places with direct sea breeze.
  • Use a food-grade desiccant packet in the outer box and replace it periodically.
  • Divide portions to be used in 1–2 weeks to limit opening the box.
  • Check the smell and color weekly during the humid season; see how to identify spoiled bird’s nest and how to store bird’s nest properly.

Buying bird’s nest as a gift for partners and family in Hai Phong

Hai Phong has many transport, port, import-export, and manufacturing businesses, so gifts for partners and employees during Tet or holidays are a common need. Some practical suggestions:

  • Place orders early, especially for multiple boxes, to allow time for sample approval and product inspection.
  • If a company invoice is needed, ask in advance what information should be provided.
  • Ask about allergies and taboos of the recipient; choose elegant packaging without being too elaborate.
  • For gifts sent to relatives far away, clearly write the recipient’s name and phone number for the delivery unit to contact.
